Buhmwoo built the Bupyeong Plant in 1975, guided
by the concept of a research institute that regards
the development of technologies as the sole key to
the achievement of the highest quality.
Buhmwoo's customers are car and steel manufacturers
performing precision metal processing. As such, the
most important objectives of product development are
to retain the characteristics unique to the quality
of each product even after use by customers and recycle
products for a long period of time under diversified
processing conditions; thus ultimately contributing
to the improvement of quality and productivity onsite.
Accordingly, it is important to provide site-tailored
products and technical services to ensure customer
satisfaction. Buhmwoo operates a research team specializing
in various kinds of oil products and enabling a site
consumption control system to be operated to provide
periodic technology services.
To satisfy current and future customers, Buhmwoo
Institute of Technology Research (BIT) uses scientific
development techniques such as Quality Function Development
(QFD), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and
Design of Experiments (DOE) considering not only the
¡¸ Qualitative Aspects ¡¹ but also the ¡¸ Environmental
Aspects¡¹ and ¡¸ Safety¡¹. Buhmwoo develops products
using the abovementioned standardized procedures and
supplies only thoroughly tested and validated products
to customers. It operates a product processing system
that enables customers to accumulate related technologies
easily during the process.
Furthermore, Buhmwoo operates a Cross Functional
Team overseeing the sales, purchase, quality, and
production divisions centering on the research institute
to shorten the development lead-time and to ensure
quality in the early development stages. In particular,
Buhmwoo improves the efficiency of product development
by checking and applying the requirements for related
production and delivery processes.
